When I pledged to organise my sewing space a few weeks back I realised that I actually had a multitude of decorative hooks stored away that I wasn’t using to their full potential.
I had bought them because I thought they looked pretty and useful, most likely for storing jewelry. However I didn’t really think about it and it turned out that I had nowhere to put them – at least no where that they would be of any use… or so I thought!
Like i said, when I began to organise my sewing room I suddenly found their true home and put them all to very, very good use.
I keep these little guys right next to my sewing table – just in reach so that I can grab a tape measure, some scissors or a pin cushion ring in a moments notice. The fact that they are little wire mannequins is just an added bonus!
I am pretty sure this wasn’t made to hold spools of thread, but it should have been!
I hate how untidy my thread draw gets, especially when they all end up tangled and intertwined. This keeps them separate and you can easily compare the colours, making it easy to pick out exactly what I need.
You can see how this would be useful for storing rings or earrings, but I find it better for keeping my washer weights together and to hand.
As you can see, my sewing room is full of hooks galore! They are unbelievably useful and look adorable, don’t you think?
In the final installment of Spring Clean Your Sewing Space I will be sharing how I made my washer weights so pretty!
Hope to see you then
